The shuttle was established by agreement between the developer, the City of
Rockville and Montgomery County. As part of the original approvals to
begin construction, the developer was required to provide for traffic
remediation in the general area of King Farm by guaranteeing the
provision to the County of an annual Transportation Demand Management
fee. Subsequently, the developer proposed and the parties agreed to have
the development support the provision of a limited shuttle service
within the community and servicing all sectors of the community in
perpetuity, or for as long as the County requires same. If the
Conservancy decides to discontinue the shuttle, it will still be
obligated to pay into the County transportation fund. Presently Paul Stankus serves as the Conservancy's residential board member appointed by the King Farm Citizens Assembly Board of Trustees; Brian Dawson of Regency Centers serves as the board member for the
retail space property owners and Jessica Forbes of KFA serves as the
board member for the commercial (offices) property owners.
